Caregiving – a new documentary and national engagement campaign on the state and stakes of providing care in America.
Circle the City’s mobile street team goes out into the sweltering Phoenix heat each day searching for people experiencing homelessness who need medical care. They are on a mission to save lives at a time when heat-related illness and death pose a real threat. The patients they treat get more from their experience than just medicine; they receive respect, feel seen and cared for, which can be the difference between life and death for people living on the edge.
An estimated 53 million to 105.6 million U.S. adults provide unpaid caregiving for family or friends. Every one of them has a story filled with sacrifice, love, and the pursuit of dignity in care. The two-hour documentary will premiere Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at 9 p.m. ET on wellbeings.org, PBS, and the PBS YouTube Channel. Stream now on the PBS App and PBS.org.
