National Day of the Horse

December 13, 2025 All day

The National Day of the Horse is celebrated annually on December 13th, designated by the U.S. Congress in 2004 to recognize the horse’s vital contributions to the nation’s economy, history, and character, and to encourage Americans to appreciate their roles as companions, workers, and symbols of freedom. People celebrate by learning about horses, watching horse-related media, supporting rescues, and using #NationalDayoftheHorse on social media.
