Black History Month
February 1, 2029 All day
Black History Month is observed annually in the United States in February to recognize and celebrate the achievements, history, and contributions of African Americans across all fields, including politics, science, the arts, culture, and civil rights. Originating from Negro History Week, founded by historian Carter G. Woodson in 1926, the observance has grown into a nationwide month of education, reflection, and cultural programming. Each year features a national theme highlighting specific aspects of Black history and life.
