National Minority Donor Awareness Week is an annual observance held from August 1st to 7th to raise awareness about the importance of organ, eye, and tissue donation within minority communities. It aims to address health disparities and encourage more people from diverse backgrounds to register as donors. The observance was initially founded in 1996 as National Minority Donor Awareness Week and later expanded into National Minority Donor Awareness Month, which is celebrated throughout August.
