Black History Month is an annual observance in the United States and Canada dedicated to recognizing the achievements, contributions, and history of African Americans. Originating from Negro History Week in 1926, it expanded to a month-long observance in 1976. The month highlights Black leadership, culture, resistance, and impact across all areas of society.
