SUMMARY:Toolkit for Law Enforcement and EMS When Called to a Long-Term Care Facility
DESCRIPTION:Across the country\, Law Enforcement (LE) and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) are called to nursing homes and other long-term care facilities for help. The National Consumer Voice for Quality Long-Term Care (Consumer Voice)\, in partnership with the Department of Justice (DOJ)\, developed a series of short\, engaging educational videos and resource materials informing and educating first responders about considerations when called to a long-term care facility and resources for where to turn if they have questions or concerns about what they see.  Join this webinar for a preview of these new resource videos and a discussion for how they may be used to educate and support first responders about issues experienced in Long-Term Care.  \n\n\n\nAgency: Department of Justice in Partnership with the National Consumer Voice \n\n\n\nPresenters:  \n\n\n\n\nLori Smetanka\, Executive Director\, National Consumer Voice for Quality Long-Term Care\n\n\n\nSusan Lynch\, Senior Counsel for Elder Justice\, U.S. Department of Justice\, where she leads the Department’s National Nursing Home Initiative. \n\n\n\n\nLink to Join \n\n\n\nElder Justice Awareness Month Webinar Series \n\n\n\nIn recognition of Elder Justice Awareness Month\, the Elder Justice Coordinating Council (EJCC) is hosting a national webinar series to raise awareness\, strengthen prevention efforts\, and advance coordinated responses to elder abuse\, neglect\, and exploitation.
